Deaf Uber Driver goes Viral
A photo uploaded by Deen Samson on Twitter has touched so many hearts. In the photo, a sign read "Your Uber driver is hard of hearing due to his service in the Philippine Military. Please be patient with him. Thank You." The said post has quickly gone viral and reached over thousands of likes, comments and shares on twitter.

Persons like him find it difficult to land a job and earn a living. Good thing Uber Philippines came up with Project Beethoven. Deaf drivers will use an app feature which will help them navigate and pick up passengers. It lets them know that they are deaf or hard of hearing ahead of time. That way they are not surprised. Named after Ludwig Van Beethoven — the deaf German composer and pianist — "Beethoven" was first rolled out in Chicago in 2015. It quickly gained traction and is now being used by deaf Uber partners in over 400 cities worldwide.
One Twitter user, who managed to recognize the driver, disclosed that the elderly driver lost his hearing due to a canon fire in Sulu.
