Young boy got stuck in an escalator

      A horrifying video of a young boy stuck in an escalator was posted by Grace Mae Dulay immediately went viral on social media and garnered thousands of shares. The escalator accident happened in SM San Lazaro at around 5:15 pm last March 22.

     This only implies that children are at risk for sustaining severe injuries on escalators. Young age, inadequate adult supervision, improper activity while riding on the escalator, and escalator-related mechanical problems all increase the risk of injury. Public and parent education directed toward escalator safety issues may help to reduce escalator-related injuries in children.
